Breakout Session: Building Effective Collaborations to Support Families Affected by Substance Use Disorders

Back to Package

November 14, 2018 - 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. EDT

While much progress has taken place over the last decade to address the needs of children involved in child welfare,  in general and in particular those at risk of or involved with child welfare due to parental substance use disorders, there is still much more that needs to be done in order to help families thrive. This session will highlight past and current efforts at the federal and national level to advance collaborative practice to support families experiencing substance use disorders. The speaker will provide information on research that compels us as a field to continue to try new approaches and highlight resources based on workable solutions.
